Family Court Reset

Too often we see attorneys make arguments that are in the best interest of a parent vs arguments that are in the best interest of children. Our focus must change from what is best for the parent and their attorney, to what is best for children. Money and winning needs to stop driving the arguments in family courts. The children's best interest needs to be the driving factor in custody battles.

Too often we see parents who make decisions that are selfish and vindictive in nature. This is not good coparenting. We need parents to work in the best interest of children. Our goal is to get parents to let go of grudges and past feelings and let the best interest of children prevail.

In order to have equity in the court room we need honesty and truth to be the standard. One of the first steps to ensuring that honesty and truth are the standard is to stop the dishonesty that is so pervasive in the family courts. Too often parents and attorneys make false statements in court documents and in the court room. This is unacceptable. They attempt to deceive commissioners and judges and too often they prevail and/or not punished for such behavior. It is time that we begin to punish perjury in order to stop perjury. This is in the best interest of all, especially our children.
